So I picked Sound and Vision out of all the projects as I think that It will be the one best suited to me. I was interested in Futures past but as that was mainly for the print girls I decided against it. I also picked it because I drew parallels between Sound and Vision and Film and drawing from last year which I really enjoyed so I thought I would also really enjoy this one. So far we have been given a task of listening to a few songs and seeing what things came to mind. E.g, places or specific objects.
I did this but I could't pick a particular song so I listened to them all listed the places, objects or events the music brought to mind.
I picked Samuel Barber - Adagio for strings as it felt really tranquil and got a lot from it. I then went throughout my list and drew simple images to represent them. We were given a week to complete this task. We were asked to use a variety of colour & media but I kept it pretty simple. Some of my drawings were quite detailed and some were quick. I liked this task as I haven't done much drawing lately and it's nice to get back into it.
I enjoyed this task but I did find it quite challenging, there is no right or wrong way to interpret a song. It is completely bases on what you as an individual take away from it. This I found comforting but also stressful as there are so many different outcomes.
But all in all I enjoyed the task and look forward to Sound and Vision.
