After a few unsuccessful stop motion videos I thought i would give it one more try, just because I really liked it but what I was using it for didn't really flow well. Instead of focusing purely on one pattern I decided to position them together so they interacted with each other. There was the issue still of how was I going to stick them down but keep them loose so I could move them around. In the end I finally found some paper fasteners they allowed freedom of movement for my shapes. This is a key factor in my stop motions as I want to capture the movement of my shapes together like cogs moving together in one big seamless machine.
I played around with positions and speed of frames per second, of corse none of that comes through in these stills! The first set of photos is my first stop motion with my shapes, it's very small and basic but it worked and lead my onto my other ideas.
This is of of my more recent stop motions, I started off with a small cluster of shapes in the middle and then added more and then took them away again. This is a bit easier to see even in the stills as shapes have appeared then disappeared. It was quite effective and lead me onto other stops motions with the same sort of idea but in different positions.
