25^th January – 29^th January

I have found that the thread drawings are my strong suit and I am continuing on with them whilst experimenting with other medias. I have done some drawings in oil bars as I enjoy working in oil but its too heavy and doesn’t really work, as what I like about the thread drawings is that they are simple and light.  I even tried to cover the page in oil and then draw by scratching the oil off the paper. The end result was very good and I liked that I could correct mistakes within the drawing.  I reflected on my work and can see what worked for me and what didn’t but I’m glad I tried them all out as now I have a range of drawings.

18^th January – 22^nd January

After coming back from Christmas I have started to explore different ways of drawing as I have been doing a lot of ink drawings lately I have started to draw in glue and thread.  My first person in thread was Chloe and she sat for 30 minutes. I really enjoyed the thread and glue drawings there is a lot of control over it but the do take a lot of time to finish and they are very frustrating but satisfying at the same time.  I am going to try and generate a lot of drawing this week I have done two thread drawings and they were both great successes. I need to work on speeding them up as they take too long to produce at the moment.
