Chance Cards
This week we have been set some chance cards to make us think outside of the box. There are 16 cards each with an instructions that we must carry out. I experimented with each card & tried to carry out each of the instructions correctly.
Below are a few pictures of the drawing I did, the chance card said to ' make a drawing every five minutes for sixty minutes'. I have a varied & slightly random set of drawing but I feel that the colour's link them all together well. The items I picked to draw were all just item I had around me. From this task I have found that I prefer to use marker pens as a media. I like how bold the colours are & how easy & free they are to draw with.

This was the task of do a ' Long drawing '. I began to think about how I perceive a long drawing, I began to think about the lay out of the drawing how I could present it in a more creative & interesting Therefore i decided that I would draw something that wasn't that long but then be able to change it if i way. I included masking tape in my drawing, in that way if I want to I can remove certain areas of the drawing or even extend it. I like the vibrancy & colours I used in this drawing. I got the inspiration from a picture I took of a building in Manchester.
This drawing was inspired by another picture I took in Manchester. It is a slab I found in the pavement. The chance card seemed very appropriate as it said ' draw on folded or crumpled paper' I liked that it stood out against the bland pavement, this is something i wanted to carry across. I didn't want to loose that vibrancy, It is very simple but could make a very interesting background or repeated pattern.
This was an interesting drawing which I enjoyed making. I really like the marks I made & the drawing as a whole I find very busy & messy but I think could be very useful later on in my project. This chance card was ' Make a drawing using Indian ink & dipped found objects ' I used the lid f a pen & the lid of a perfume bottle also two separate but very interestingly decorated ear rings. I very much like the results & will use this method of mark making again.
